Handmade Greeting cards in Dubai 9

valentines cards in Dubai

Some of the best friends, I have made over the years,  are from my college days.  What’s truly amazing,  is how our friendship withstood all the time lapses,  life threw at us.   Marriages, children, deaths of parents, accidents, illnesses, bankruptcies and even some, sainthood, thrown in, for added measure !!

We have been a very closely knit group of friends who have harbored our friendship, outside the realm of religious beliefs, language, upbringing and distances.  I am deeply honored to have had my favorite group of friends in SABNIK.

While I live in Dubai, the rest reside in India but not a year goes by when I am not remembered on my birthday and when I am not a part of the developments in their lives.  We may not Skype or whatsapp every other day, but there is a deep sense of satisfaction, knowing that we have eachother for guidance, support and occasionally, a kick up one’s backside 🙂 (when needed !!)

In an age, where, speed and technology has taken over our lives, I still find solace and a sense of belonging with these friends, who have stood by me, through hail and storms.

I’d like to dedicate card # 9 in the series of 14 cards – 14 days to Sabnik. My BFF’s when the term was not even coined !

  2. This is simply wonderful! I love this project and the colors you’ve used. Fabulous idea. Thanks for sharing your art work with us at Card Mania Challendges.

  3. Naush – your card is great but what is even greater is that you are still so close to your friends and that you (like me) appreciate the hand made and take the time to create something special for those that are special to you. I love what you have done with your card. Thanks for playing along with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

    • Brandi, thank you very much. I really appreciate your sentiments. In the kind of ‘fake and materialistic’ world that is fast-becoming around us, I value the few friends, that I have coz they knew me and respected me long before, the cars, the villa’s etc came ~ they knew the real me ~ the difficult me and still accepted me. Your very thoughtful Brandi.
