Adversity is the mother of all inventions – as they say.
For the last 6 months, I have patiently waited for my order of macrame to arrive from a reputed online market. I had ordered 14 other craft supplies as well and unfortunately, it was the first time I used this market platform.
Obviously the Covid crisis, delayed the delivery but after six months, I had had enough !!
Disappointment gave way to frustration, which turned into fury. I had already spend quite abit on the 3 shades of macrame that I’d ordered so I didn’t want to chip out more again.
However, thinking out of the box – is a thing, you know !!
I dropped by at our local Dollar Tree and picked 2 of their mopheads !! Yes, thats right, I picked mopheads ! They do have yarn at our Dollar Tree, but its just too thin, soft and woolly.
So anyways, here’s what I came up with.
The video explains the entire tutorial. Please visit and subscribe my Youtube channel. That gives me alot of encouragement to create more such videos.
I really had fun experimenting with the mop heads ! Infact, I dropped by and picked another one with a grey and white stripes. That one was a bit woolly though. Lets see what I come up with it !
Most of my posts are easy craft ideas that can be done as a family activity too. Making gnomes for Christmas or teaching a child to recycle a can in this manner, goes a long way in making kids environmentally aware. I hope, you try it with your children.
Thank you for stopping by and writing to me. I truly appreciate it.
I love reading the thoughtful comments you have been leaving here. It brings immense joy, in such grey uncertain times.
Bless your beautiful and kind hearts for keeping in touch.

I’d love to visit you, lets connect at :-
Well you did it again and inspired me again Naush! I have used yarn a few times for macreme but it doesn’t really have the right stiffness. A mop head seems like a much better idea! Thanks again and I hope your week was amazing.
Thanks babes. My week a semi miserable one. I attempted to clear out (organize my craft room) – quite a mammoth task. Hence no post last week. I was so frustrated having to mentally remember a little over million things – its just exhausting. Any plans for the weekend ? We’ve had the overcast for the past 4 days in Kitchener.
Family in town to visit so just keeping everyone 😃 happy. Ugh I hate when I have to organize my craft stuff. Then I can never find it again because I forget where I organized it too!
I forgot to ask about your weekend plans! Sorry I’m distracted lol
I have to work on the next post tomorrow but 13th is hubby’s birthday so probably go for a drive/dinner (hopefully) – stay safe now.
Same here. Just the thought of going to the basement is stressing me out !! 😦 Have a lovely time with the family. You must meeting everyone after months !
Lovely creative work, dollar tree rocks!
Thank you Christine. Glad you liked it.
You are simply brilliant! We have a dollar tree here in my town and I shop there all the time. I will look for the mops now. Thank you for sharing your ideas and I hope you get your money back from that company.
🙂 Nicole, So glad you liked these projects. I would have been happy to give “the said company” their credit, had they delivered even after six months. But its ok. I love how these turned out as well. Thank you for dropping by.

Thank you Jenn. So glad you liked the projects. Thank you for visiting me today.
Cute projects. I especially liked the gnome. I love to wander through our 2 local Dollar Trees (they have different stuff!) and seeing on-line projects using reasonably priced supplies. If I need to “unworst” (is that a word?) yarn or string, I start with a stiff hairbrush or comb, then brush it with a clothes brushI It gives fringe or tassels a softer look. honestly can’t imagine making a $60 wreathe (my current fave is a 59.99 Kohl’s one I got for 5.99 and $3 of DT orchids to to jazz it up with a bit of color!
Kathy – you bought a wreath worth $60 for $6 ? Wow-Thats a great buy !
Thank you for the tip on combing the fringe.
So glad you dropped by. Have a fantastic week.
Much love
